The Alchemist's Guide

Writer: Fullmethyl AlchemistFullmethyl Alchemist

What is alchemy?

It is the study of transforming ordinary materials into precious minerals. It was thought that metals are sentient organisms capable of producing the elixir to immortality, the touch of Midas and even a miracle cure to all sicknesses. It was a pathway to godly powers.

Then why does the human mind need an alchemy guide?

Just as the subatomic particles make up gold, silver and other materials, the conscious and subconscious thoughts we have make up the personality and character that we so deeply embody. The elements comprised of such simple materials vary greatly from the harmless iron to the precious diamond, and to the deadly lewisite. However, how to harness such primary elements is entirely up to the alchemist. What is made is dependent upon the individual and the results are just as rewarding or catastrophic.

While in the human psyche, we cannot create Homunculi or the Philosopher's Stone, we can harden our will into iron, understand the intricate nature of the mind and even seek to use it. The psyche is malleable and its potentials are equivalent to what alchemy has promised. There is endless power within the gears and cogs of the human mind, a power capable of leveling cities to the ground or leaving no stone unturned, a power capable of flourishing even in the darkest of times and a spark that will ignite an entire planet as long as the alchemist knows the nature of it.

So here is the guide that I offer, made for all alchemists out there who seek to create their own Philosopher's Stone or elixir of immortality. It is by no means a complete or absolutely correct guide, but such is the nature of scientific exploration.

Welcome to the Alchemist's Guide to the Human Psyche.
